Another trip around the sun

Birthdays, they seem to come and go quicker as we age. I think I will after this year I’ll stop counting since I am creeping up on the big 60.
Did I really say that aloud?

I love the lyrics from the Jimmy Buffet song though:

Here I’m singin’ happy birthday
Better think about the about the wish I make
This year gone by ain’t been a piece of cake
Everyday’s a revolution
Pull it together and it comes undone
Just one more candle and a trip around the sun

My celebrations are something special

The past couple of years I have been celebrating my birthday by going to a destination and making special memories.

In 2016 I went to Montreal and saw Adele in concert. Something I will never forget!
Last year I did stay local but had an amazing brunch with my best friend at the Breakers on Sunday morning.

New York, New York

This year I took a trip to the city that never sleeps, forgetting how much I appreciate my sleep. Must be old age creeping in.
I planned out the trip taking in two Broadway shows. “Mean Girls” and “Hamilton”. I took the trip with my best friend, who else! We walked Central Park, found a hidden gem in a local museum “The Woman in Gold” portrait, and did a bit of shopping. Rounding out a very nice and memorable long weekend.

I couldn’t have had more fun. Making new memories with friends and family. That is what a birthday is all about. And this year was no exception.

Another year, another wish

My wishes every year are pretty simple, good health, happiness, prosperity, etc. But mainly, and to take a line from Tim McGraw, be humble and kind.

Hold the door say please say thank you
Don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you’re dreamin’ come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Great words to live by, so here’s to another trip around the sun. See you in 2019!
